Description of the works:

1) Circularity Description: the search for the pure form of the circle and simplicity has generated a series of studies and this is one of these realizations. Dimensions: H 60 cm - base 60 cm Year 2010

Description: inspired by the book of Emilio Lussu, A Year on the Plateau, where he clearly describes the tragedy of the war, I try to show in the static nature the violence and the shapes of the material that composes an explosion of grenades with splinters and stones found on the banks of the Isonzo theater of 11 bloody battles. The trajectories of the splinters in the air, from bombs born to upset and kill: but to kill who? me? my brother who? Pietà is dead, she said an adage of war. Year: 1997/2018

It's double-sided, but I don't reveal the other side. Materials used: iron, brass, wood treated with cooked linseed oil. Dimensions: H 55 cm - base 40 cm. Year: 2010

I only stopped it and left it as it was, making it take only the first step. Materials used: iron, wood. Dimensions: H 40 cm - base 18 cm Year: 2010

11)Aggressive. Description: A three-pronged pitchfork, an iron bottom found on the Isonzo of unclear origin, two nails, a hinge. In short it has taken on a threatening tone. If there is good, unfortunately, there are also those who are aggressive and safe. To overcome evil you must cross it and not run away scared. Materials used: iron, wood. Dimensions: H 40 cm - base 18 cm Year: 2010

16) Grenade with helmet Description: Along the banks of the Isonzo river are these objects dating back to the First World War. Their weight, their shapes, are dramatic and they ask for pity and many because. The explosion that has ripped the iron of this medium-caliber shell is shocking and the thought that it may have killed or torn apart immediately springs to mind. The nationality of the helmet is random, but I always found it there. The helmet is revolving and, above it, there is a ring to be able to possibly unscrew it from the base and hang it. Materials used: iron. Dimensions: H 40 cm - base 27 cm Year 2010

17) Bucranio. Description: It is probably part of a bridge, of the First World War. Remained for many years on the banks of the Isonzo, well welded with molten lead on an Istrian stone of several tons. It seemed immovable but with the help of my friend Matteo, several attempts and a bit of luck, we were able to detach it. Water is known, has patience and has no horns and has smoothed it as best you can. The eyes are mobile, the horns I added. It is certainly a cow. Materials used: iron, wood, copper. Dimensions: H 35 cm - base: depending on use. Year: 2010

19,a,b) Walnut Description: the trunk of the walnut has a curious aspect: where the branches are detached, very sad and expressive eyes are formed. For a variety of reasons I had to cut that little nut. I had quite a few problems and I thought how to make sense of that cut and those eyes that looked at me from all angles. I burned some of it and it warmed me up in a cold winter and I used a piece instead and now it's here. And, I hope, to have understood well who he is by revealing his eyes and decorating it with iron hinges, brass and other objects, which recall the virtues of this noble wood in the joinery.
